Michigan State scores Indiana wing

If you don't think that the world of college basketball recruiting can get any crazier, just wait a day because it will. One need look no further than Branden Dawson and how he's handled his commitment to Michigan State.
Earlier this afternoon, the wing from Gary (Ind.) Lew-Wallace posted on his facebook account that he was planning on being a Michigan State Spartan. The catch, however, was that Dawson had yet to inform the Michigan State staff.

Shortly after that, Rivals.com was able to confirm with several sources close to Dawson (including Dawson's coach with the SYF Players, Shawn Robinson) that he told them he would be committing to Michigan State this evening.
Finally, Dawson confirmed via text with the Indianapolis Star that he would indeed be committing to Michigan State.
It's not the usual way of getting things done, but it doesn't change the fact that a commitment from Dawson is a big one for Tom Izzo and his staff. A five-star small forward, Dawson plays with physicality, athleticism a non-stop motor and he's proven this summer that he's much more skilled than initially given credit for.
Dawson joins commitments Dwaun Anderson and Brandan Kearney in what is now a Michigan State recruiting class that is heavy on wing prospects.
