Michigan St Offers 2-Sport Recruit

Joe McCray, a 6-4, 193 pound shooting guard from Dillard H.S. in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., enjoyed some terrific shooting performances this past weekend at the Rumble in the Bronx Tournament in New York.
McCray's three point stroke was a big factor in Team Breakdown's march to the championship game of the 17 and under Gold division, where it lost to eventual champion Riverside Church on late Sunday afternoon.

McCray plays both football and basketball at Dillard H.S., and told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he is being looked at more in football than hoops.
In fact, McCray said he has been offered a scholarship by Michigan State in football, and plans to attend summer gridiron camps at MSU and Auburn this summer.
In addition to those two schools, McCray said he is being looked at by Purdue, Florida State, South Florida, Arkansas, Central Florida and Florida Atlantic.
McCray said he plays wide receiver in football, while in basketball he is primarily a shooting guard. This past season at Dillard, he averaged 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals per contest.
Even though he is primarily a catch and shoot specialist from beyond the arc, he was quite potent this past weekend in New York. He hit five three pointers in Team Breakdown's semifinal victory over Tallahassee.
McCray said he holds a 2.2 GPA and took the SAT for the first time on June 1. In addition to attending football camps at Michigan State and Auburn, McCray also plans on attending South Florida's basketball camp.
In addition to playing with Team Breakdown, McCray also plays with the Nike sponsored Coast to Coast program out of South Florida.
