Michigan Shooting Guard Drawing Interest

Jakari Johnson, a 2005 shooting guard prospect from Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is receiving some division one attention as he has put together a solid junior season.
"Bo Ellis from Marquette has called and wants film, Steve Hawkins from Western Michigan wants film, and as of late South Carolina has shown interest," said Johnson’s AAU coach and assistant coach at Ottawa Hills Omar Bakri.

Coach Bakri had this description of Johnson, who is averaging 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game.
"Jakari has an all-around game. He's a great defender. He has a long wing span and gets his hands on a lot of balls. He's a very smart player. He comes from a basketball family. Jakari is a real good 3 point shooter. He shoots it better off the pass. He does a real good job at getting to the rim. Jakari is a hard worker and will only get better."
