Michigan Schools Looking At Swingman

Nick Freer may not be a high major basketball talent, but there's little doubt that the Grand Rapids Storm member possesses high major athleticism.
Freer was clearly among the top athletes on hand last weekend at the Spiece Run N Slam. He was a factor for the Storm, which made a respectable run and finished among the final 16 teams out of the 56-team field.

Freer, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound forward from Lakeshore H.S. in Stevensville, Mich., told RivalsHoops.com that he has early looks from Central Michigan, Detroit, Oakland and Western Michigan.
As a junior this past season at Lakeshore, he averaged 18 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
For Grand Rapids last weekend, Freer showcased his athleticism, via alley-oop slams and tip dunks. If he can hone his perimeter skills in the coming years, he could be a threat both inside out outside the post.
Freer plans on attending a session of the Eastern Invitational Basketball Clinic in New Jersey this summer. With a 3.0 GPA and 25 on the ACT, lots of academic minded programs on the East Coast will be sure to take a look at Freer.
In addition, Freer will travel with the Grand Rapids Storm to Jerry Mullen's Tournament in the Kansas City area as well as the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
We'll keep an eye on Freer this summer on the basketball circuit, so keep it tuned to RivalsHoops.com for the top coverage of the Class of 2004 and beyond....
