Michigan guard makes his pick

A birthday is already a pretty big day for any teenager. For Monte Morris, it was an extra special day.
The No. 82 player in the 2013 Rivals150 celebrated his 18th birthday in style by making a commitment to Iowa State.

The 6-foot-2 combo guard picked the Cyclones during a ceremony at Flint (Mich.) Beecher.
Capable of playing either the point or the two guard, Morris isn't just a versatile backcourt player. He brings plenty in terms of skill, but his real value is in the level of toughness he plays with and his commitment to leading and winning.
A four-star prospect, Morris is a nice compliment to the Cyclones' other Rivals150 commit from the class of 2013, Matt Thomas.
Where Thomas gives the Cyclones a shooter with some size, Morris gives them a guy who can create off the dribble and guard multiple positions around the perimeter.
