Michigan Big Man Has Four Offers

Al Horford, a 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward from Grand Ledge H.S. in Grand Ledge, Mich., is a big man who possesses considerable upside.
Horford, who was here at the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas last week with Norm Oden's Michigan Mustangs program, has a short list of five colleges that he is considering.

Horford said that he has been offered scholarships by several programs. "Xavier, Iowa, Ohio State and Georgia have offered," Horford said.
The fifth and final school on his list, Kansas, has yet to offer, he said. Horford has taken unofficial visits to Ohio State, Michigan and Xavier, but he didn't list the Wolverines among his five schools.
The son of ex-Miami Hurricane star Tito Horford, Al impressed us with his aggressive play in the paint. He's mobile, plays hard and still hasn't completely filled into his frame yet. He netted eight points last Wednesday afternoon in the Mustangs' pool play victory over the New Orleans Jazz.
As a junior this past season at Grand Ledge, Horford averaged 18 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks per game. He said he has a 3.5 GPA but has yet to take the ACT or SAT exam.
Horford kicked off the summer at the NBA Players Association Camp in Richmond, Va. He opened the July evaluation period at the Nike All-American Camp in Indianapolis.
