2004 PROSPECT WATCH:

Davis Nwankwo- The 6-foot-9, 236-pound power forward has narrowed his school list to Arizona, Gonzaga, UCLA, Princeton, and Northwestern, after not being admitted into Stanford. It seems odd that an Ivy League school would be an option for the No. 66 player in the Rivals150 if he could not get into Stanford. It makes one wonder how Stanford can be such a national power with such a stringent admissions policy.

2005 PROSPECT WATCH:

Keith Brumbaugh- The No. 7 player in the Rivals100 has Florida and Florida State as his top two schools. The 6-foot-8, 205-pound small forward out of Florida is also considering Kentucky, Georgia, Arizona, and Louisville.

Jamont Gordon- Coach Rick Stansberry from Mississippi State watched the No. 9 player in the Rivals 100 lead his team to the state tournament with a 19 point victory last Monday. Presently, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound combo guard is listing Tennessee, Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, and Alabama as his top five schools. Thursday night Gordon’s Glencliff team faces off against the Delk twins’ Jackson Northside team in the first round of the state tournament.

Andre Blatche- The 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward told RivalsHoops.com that he is headed to South Kent Prep School next year. The No. 15 player in the Rivals100 is listing Syracuse, West Virginia, St. John’s, Rutgers, and Georgetown as his top five schools.

Mario Chalmers- The No. 25 player in the Rivals100 is coming off an impressive visit to Arizona. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from Alaska is also considering Kansas, Wisconsin, Marquette, North Carolina, Wake Forest and UCLA.

Bobby Frasor- The No. 33 player in the Rivals100 recently received offers from Georgia Tech and Northwestern. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound point guard already has received offers from DePaul, Marquette, Stanford, and Notre Dame.

Tyler Newbold- He isn’t a well known name outside the west, but Newbold is known by coaching staffs in the west. Several western schools have watched the 6-foot-5 shooting guard play and are impressed with his athleticism.

Reginald Delk & Richard Delk- These twin nephews of Dallas Maverick Tony Delk are adamant about playing together in college. They are listing some high major schools in the southeast as recruiting them, but it is unlikely that any high majors are willing to spend two scholarships on virtually the same position. Look for the Delks to play together on the mid-major level.

Brian Gilmore- The 6-foot-7, 205-pound small forward has an offer from Virginia Tech.

2006 PROSPECT WATCH

Ekpe Udoh- Coach Hardaker at Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma feels he has a good one in this 6-foot-8, 200-pound combo forward. Udoh, who has a 7-foot-3 wingspan, is averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds for his state tournament team.

Peter Flowers- Another sophomore who is averaging a double/double, Flowers and his Fenwick High School team in Oak Park, Illinois are making a run for the state tournament. Notre Dame may have the inside track for this 6-foot-6 small forward, since his father starred at Notre Dame while becoming a first round draft pick.
