Messy Qualified and Open

Mani Messy, a 6-7, 225 pound combo forward who attended St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J., last year, has recently been certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse as a qualifier and is looking for a college to attend next year.
Messy had committed to Fordham last spring, but after failing to qualify academically, he opted to sit out this year and attempt to qualify. He posted a qualifying test score recently and sailed through the NCAA Clearinghouse, according to his former club team coach, Felix Weekes.

Messy told Rivalshoops.com that he has been contacted recently by programs such as George Washington, Providence, Rutgers, Seton Hall, East Carolina, Penn State and Richmond. He also said he hasn't ruled out Fordham.
"If everything works out at the end of the day, I could still end up at Fordham," Messy admitted. "But it's not the only option out there."
A fine athlete blessed with a sleek build, Messy didn't play much at St. Benedict's last winter due to injury. He has been keeping sharp in the past year playing pick up ball and working out with Blair Academy's Luol Deng.
Messy could be taking some official visits in the upcoming weeks, so keep it tuned to Rivalshoops.com for any new wrinkles in his situation.
