Merritt May Decide Tomorrow

Daon Merritt, a 5-9, 185-pound point guard from St. Raymond's High School in the Bronx, has slashed his list of potential college destinations to five, with a decision potentially looming.
"I'm down to Depaul, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, UConn, and Louisville," said Merritt. "I could have a decision on Wednesday. I like Pittsburgh and UConn."

Merritt's quickness was on display Monday at Farleigh Dickinson's Rothman Center, as the 5'9'' waterbug skittered in and out of traffic and served up some quality feeds to teammates. Merritt displayed good court vision and awareness in piloting his team, the Sonics.
As far as Daon's recruitment, the Queens native insists that he would like to take all five of his official visits, and that the programs on his list are waiting to see if the interest is mutual before extending a scholarship offer. Still, Daon hinted that while it's not a certainty, he could commit at this week's ABCD camp.
Merritt will participate in the Adidas Three Stripes Tournament at Hofstra University later this week with the New York Ravens. He will also attend the Vegas Big Time Tournament, and the Double Pump Tournament in California, as well as the Bronx Hoop Fest, a sanctioned event that will take place at St. Raymond's.
