Memphis picks up Oak Hill swingman

The recruiting machine at Memphis continues to roll on. Saturday afternoon Josh Pastner and his staff at Memphis hosted Damien Wilson on an unofficial visit and walked away with a commitment.
A native of the Atlanta area who is currently attending Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill, Wilson had long been considered a Memphis lean.

Saturday, the 6-foot-5 junior decided that he'd seen enough and he ended his recruitment.
"There wasn't really anything significant about tonight," Wilson told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "It was just today. It was just today that I had to get it out of the way."
"I've been watching them since (former Memphis guard) Chris Douglas-Roberts. That's when I first fell in love with Memphis basketball."
Currently ranked as a four-star prospect and #49 overall in the class of 2012, Wilson is a sleek and athletic wing. He does his best damage attacking the rim in transition and is a streaky jump shooter who turns into an explosive scorer when that shot is dropping.
Williams is Memphis' first commitment from the class of 2012.
