Memphis, Missouri, OK ST Others Pursue Bobbitt

Tony Bobbitt, a well traveled and offensively talented 6-4, 175 pound shooting guard from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Id., will see many college coaches evaluate him this summer at CSI.
CSI Asst. Coach Jay Cyriac told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Louisiana State and Oklahoma State are expected to be up in Twin Falls on July 8 to officially begin their pursuits of Bobbitt.

In addition to LSU and Oklahoma State, Memphis, Missouri and Florida State are also in the mix early with Bobbitt, Cyriac said.
Bobbitt attended Mainland H.S. in Daytona Beach, Fla., which is the same school that produced the Toronto Raptors' Vince Carter. He had signed with Florida State out of high school, but after failing to qualify academically, he headed off to Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia.
After running into some difficulties at Hargrave, Bobbitt transferred to Tallahassee C.C. in the fall of 1999, but he failed to earn his GED by the following spring and was released by T.C.C.
He then signed at CSI, where he later earned his GED and played as a freshman in 2000-2001. By the time he got to junior college, however, Bobbitt's recruitment had reopened.
Bobbitt appeared in 32 of 33 games for the Golden Eagles, starting three games. Though he averaged just 15 minutes per game on a deep club that went 29-4, Bobbitt was CSI's third leading scoring, pouring in 10.4 points per game.
Bobbitt is an accomplished marksman from the perimeter. He shot 51 percent from the floor overall, and 42 percent (64/152) from beyond the three point arc. He also averaged 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals per contest.
While nobody questions Bobbitt's offensive gifts, his overall decision making (shot selection/off court maturity) is sometimes questionable, and he needs to drive to the basket more and draw fouls (he went to the line just 29 times all season last year).
That said, Bobbitt might be the best rising sophomore two guard prospect in the junior college ranks, so expect his recruitment to only get bigger over the coming weeks.
JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on Bobbitt in the coming months, so stay tuned.
