Meeks picking up offers

In the Sweet 16 and headed for a potential clash in the finals with South Gwinnett (Ga.) High School, undefeated Norcross (Ga.) High School has one of the hottest prospects in the south in Jodie Meeks. The 6-foot-4, 197-pound shooting guard, who is ranked No. 36 in the class of 2006, already has six high major offers.
"I have offers from Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Colorado, South Carolina and Arkansas," said Meeks. "I'm also interested in Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Florida and North Carolina. I'm still open, and I'm going to start to narrow my list this summer after I see who is serious about recruiting me."

Averaging 17.5 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game, Meeks is a perfect perimeter compliment to the rugged inside play of Western Kentucky signee Daniel Emerson. Meeks and his teammates feel confident about their chances down the stretch run of the Georgia state playoffs.
"Were in the Sweet 16 in the playoffs," he said. "Our team is very excited. I think if we continue to play hard defense and keep our composure on offense, we can make a run at the state title."
Meeks will not take his visits until the fall, but he knows what he will be looking for at that point.
"I obviously want to play off the top," he said. "I want to have a good relationship with the coach on and off the floor. Im looking for a place with a good environment, somewhere I'll enjoy being at the next four years."
A complete player with no glaring weakness, Meeks said he will continue to work on improving his all around game.
