McTyer Set to Sign

Combo guard Tywain McTyer out of Durango High School in Las Vegas is set to sign with Florida Atlantic tomorrow. The 6-foot, 185-pound McTyer chose the Atlantic Sun school over Northern Arizona, Cal State Northridge, and Southern Utah.
“I came back after my visit and thought about the program,” McTyer said. “I committed because it is a program on the uprise. Last year they unfortunately had some problems with injuries. The two best players went down. The year before they went to the tournament.”

McTyer cited Head Coach Sidney Green’s recruiting efforts as a major factor in his choosing the Owls.
“I really liked Coach Green’s attitude about things,” he said. “It made a statement to have the head coach recruit me so hard. He expressed the difference between a want and a need and said that they didn’t just want me, but needed me at Florida Atlantic.”
