McGowan to Visit SEC School This Weekend

A couple of weeks ago, it looked to be a two-horse race for Mississippi big man Cyrus McGowan. The 6-foot-9, 220-pound post player took official visits to Georgia Tech and Mississippi State in consecutive weeks. Now, the nation's No. 98 ranked senior is looking to take another official visit this weekend.
Last month, McGowan was down to the Yellow Jackets and home state Bulldogs. He stopped by both programs for official visits and saw positives in both. Now, Arkansas will host him for his third and possibly his last official visit.

"After I've seen all of those three, I'll be ready to make my decision," McGowan said.
The Razorbacks have stayed consistent, he said, and their efforts convinced him to make a trip to Fayetteville. McGowan said Arkansas will also make an in-home visit on Sept. 28 while Georgia Tech and Mississippi State have not set up any in-home visits. McGowan declined to talk about his thoughts on Arkansas but only gave a teaser on how important the official visit would be.
"It'll be huge," McGowan said of his trip to the SEC school.
The defensive minded prospect spoke highly of Georgia Tech's ability to develop big men and the school's academic reputation after his visit back on Sept. 3. His trip to Mississippi State didn't reveal any new items to consider, he said.
"It wasn't like anything caught my eye because I already knew what I needed to know about the school," McGowan said. "I hung out with Gary Ervin and Jerrell Houston, basically all of the players. We bonded. There were a lot of people downtown at this thing called Bulldog Bash in downtown Starkville. That was fun."
