McFarland opens it back up

2007 small forward Andre McFarland of Brewster (N.H.) Academy is no longer headed to Idaho for college. Instead, McFarland is going to take his time and sort through the schools showing him interest.
One school on his list is Colorado State, where former Idaho assistant coach DeMarlo Slucom is now coaching. Slocum's departure from Idaho propelled McFarland to ask for his release from the school.

"I'm considering Colorado State," said McFarland. "My coaches have also been contacted by Boston College, Ole Miss and San Diego State. It isn't a given that I'm going to Colorado State. I'm wide open right now, and I'm going to take as much time as I need to make the right decision.
"I'm going to make sure I know more about the situation instead of picking a school just because of who the coaches are. This time I'm going to listen less to the people around me and do things for myself, instead."
McFarland, who averaged 15 points and 8 rebounds per game this season, feels positive about the development of his game this year at Brewster.
"It was a good experience," he said. "It gave me time to work on things that I wasn't that comfortable with. I think my ball handling and shooting have really improved."
Andre McFarland scouting report:
Well put together for a wing player, McFarland is developing into a very good three-point shooter. He also works hard on the defensive end and on the glass. He will use a year of prep school to improve his ball handling and passing skills.
