McFarland close to committing

Three-star 2006 prospect Andre McFarland had a very positive official visit to USC two weekends ago. Now the 6-foot-5, 205-pound small forward from Durango High School in Las Vegas, Nev., will either make a commitment to one of his top schools in the coming days or decide to wait until the fall to make a decision according to his AAU coach Anthony Brown.
"Andre had a very good visit," said Coach Brown of the Las Vegas Prospects. "Coach Floyd was great, and USC is definitely an option that Andre will consider. He is going to take a couple days and make a decision or he will put off a decision until the fall."

USC is competing with Oregon State, whom McFarland visited this spring, Western Illinois, where McFarland went to camp last summer, and UNLV, his hometown school.
Coach Brown also noted that Tennessee and Baylor are working hard to get into McFarland's top school list.
In a side note, McFarland's AAU teammate P'Allen Stinnett was scheduled to visit Gonzaga this past weekend and then visit Iowa State this coming weekend.
