McDowell Is In No Rush

Trey McDowell, a slashing 6-3, 171 pound swingman/shooting guard from Westbrook H.S. in Beaumont, Tex., doesn't seem to be in a particular rush to make a decision this fall.
McDowell, who enjoyed a terrific summer with the Southeast Texas All-Stars, told Rivalshoops.com that he has had only one in-home visit thus far with Arkansas Little Rock (Sept. 10).

McDowell hasn't set up any other in home or official visits, although he said he's been in consistent contact with Stephen F. Austin, Marshall, SW Texas, Evansville, Kansas State, Wichita State and Texas Southern.
Right now, it appears that McDowell is headed towards a spring decision. Of course, with a strong senior season, he could play himself into a higher level scholarship offer.
Last weekend, he played with his high school squad at the Clear Creek H.S. Tournament, and next weekend (Sept. 28), he's slated to play at the Tops in Texas event in Waco, Tex.
During the regular season, Westbrook H.S. will play at the Coca Cola Classic in Dallas, Tex., from Dec. 26-28.
McDowell is on the borderline of qualifying academically, so he has signed up to take the SAT again on Oct. 12.
We will keep you abreast on his recruitment this fall, and into the winter and spring if necessary, so stay tuned.
