McDonald makes his pick, Buckeye

The race for capable big men is a fast and furious one at this point. While high majors scramble to grab guys, mid majors are hoping to keep them away. Trey McDonald wasn't going to end up at a mid major, but on Monday he picked the high major program of his choice when he selected Thad Matta's Ohio State program.
A 6-foot-9 insider who has broad shoulders and long arms, McDonald has starred on the high school level at Battle Creek (Mich.) Central.

During the summer, the three-star big man has done a nice job while running with both The Family and the Michigan Mustangs. With those teams and at stops at places like the LeBron James Skills Academy he showed good rebounding instinct, ability to harass shots and signs that he's coming along on the offensive end.
McDonald joins four-star wing prospects LaQuinton Ross and Sam Thompson and four-star point guard Shannon Scott to make up the Buckeyes early recruiting class.
