McCune makes Big East call

Coming into July everyone knew that talent that Tommie McCune had, however he had to put it together on a daily basis. He did so with coaches looking on, and that led to numerous college offers. After taking some time to think about it, McCune is headed to the Big East.
West Virginia Head Coach Bob Huggins has had a lot of success with combo forwards in the 6-foot-7 or 6-foot-8 range, and he will have another one at his disposal. McCune decided to pick the Mountaineers on Tuesday evening while on campus for a visit per sources close to the situation.

The 6-foot-7 McCune can play either the small forward or power forward position, and his versatility will fit in well in Morgantown. McCune is an excellent shooter with good athleticism and has some ability to beat his man off the bounce.
McCune chose WVU over offers from Rhode Island, Baylor, Cincinnati, DePaul, Providence, Missouri, Minnesota, and USC. Currently McCune is ranked as a three star prospect, but he could easily jump to four star level when the rankings are next updated.
