Robert McClain, a 6-2, 187 pound point/combo guard from Waterbury, CT, will be spending a post-grad year at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, MA.

McClain helped the Connecticut Select get to the semifinals at last week's Triple S Harley Davidson Charlie Weber Invitational at West Virginia University.

He averaged 14 points and seven rebounds per game as a junior and 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists as a senior at Sacred Heart HS in Waterbury.

McClain is currently looking at A10 schools and mid-majors. "My list includes UMass, La Salle, Towson and Hampton," he noted. Schools that were recruiting him last year included Fairfield, Towson, Northeastern, Boston University, and Loyola of Chicago. He said he needs to use the upcoming year to raise his SAT score.

McClain is a strong outside jump shooter and can drive the lane for scores, regardless of the size of defenders. "I'm working to improve my handle this summer," he said.
