McCamey puts recruitment on hold

Demetri McCamey, the No. 92 ranked player in the class of 2007, has decided to take a step back in his recruitment in order to focus on his junior season and, more importantly, his grades. However, that has not stopped schools from showing an interest in the 6-foot-3, 190-pound combo guard from St. Joseph's High School in Westchester, Ill.
"Everything is going good right now," said McCamey. "I have decided to slow down my recruitment a little to focus on the upcoming season and my grades. I am on the "B" honor roll right now, so things are going good for me.

"I also thought that it would be good for me to focus on my junior season because I didn't want my teammates to think that I was selfish," he added. "I will really start to focus on my recruitment once the season is over."
Despite the fact that McCamey has decided to put his recruitment on hold, quite a few schools have already stopped by the gym in order to get a closer look at the four-star prospect. There is no doubt that the Illinois native has established himself as a high major player.
"Michigan State, Wake Forest, Kentucky, Connecticut, Michigan, Clemson, DePaul, Illinois, Georgia Tech and Wisconsin are just some of the schools that I like," said McCamey. "All of the schools have been back to watch me condition expect for Wake Forest and Connecticut.
"I have also taken unofficial visits to DePaul, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Illinois," he added. "The best visits so far have been to Michigan State and Illinois. The atmosphere at both schools was great and the fans knew who I was, which was surprising."
