McCamey picking up offers

The No. 92 ranked prospect in the class of 2007 Demetri McCamey will be watching some Big Ten football this weekend while he is on the campus of Michigan State on an unofficial visit. McCamey, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound combo guard from St. Joseph's High School in Westchester, Ill., presently holds an offer from Michigan State and three other high major schools.
"I'm going to check out the Michigan State and Michigan game," said McCamey about his plans for this weekend. "It should be a very good game, and those are two of the schools I'm looking at. I'm also looking at Illinois and Wisconsin in the Big Ten. I've got Pittsburgh in the Big East, with Connecticut and DePaul also. In the ACC, it's Wake Forest, Clemson and Virginia."

McCamey claims offers from Michigan State, DePaul, Wake Forest and Purdue, even though the Boilermakers are presently not on his school list.
"All those schools are even right now," he said. "I need to take some visits to get a better feel on who I like. The only school that I've already visited is DePaul because it is so close to my house. I also plan on visiting Illinois soon, but I'm not sure when."
Having averaged 14 points, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game as a sophomore, McCamey is looking forward to having a strong high school season and then strong summer on the AAU circuit with the Illinois Wolves.
A well built guard who loves to get into the lane and either dish the ball off or finish against contact, McCamey provided his own breakdown on his game.
"I need to work on my three-point range, and I'm always working to get quicker and improve my defense," he said. "Getting my teammates involved offensively and finishing against contact are what I do best."
