McCamey enjoying junior campaign

For the second time in as many years, Demetri McCamey and his St. Joseph's teammates have won the Proviso West Christmas Tournament. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound combo guard from Westchester, Ill., could not be any happier with his team's performance so far this year.
"We just won the Proviso West Christmas Tournament for the second year in a row, so I am feeling real good right now," said McCamey. "I had 16-points, seven assists and four steals in the championship game. We are 11-1 overall and playing very well right now.

"The biggest difference so far is that we are starting to pick it up on defense, which has been a big help for our team," he added. "I am real happy with the way the season is going. For the season, I am averaging 15-points, seven assists and two steals per game."
McCamey, the No. 92 ranked player in the class of 2007, has also seen several new schools become involved in his recruitment. According to the four star prospect, several high-major schools have already been by to watch him in the gym.
"Connecticut is one school that has really started to pick things up in my recruitment," said McCamey. "Louisville and Miami-FL are starting to recruit me pretty hard as well. Illinois, Michigan State, Michigan Notre Dame, Purdue and Wake Forest are some of the schools that have come to watch me play.
"I might take some unofficial visits this summer, but I don't know what schools I am going to visit just yet," he added. "I just want to concentrate on the season, so I will start to think more about my recruitment after my season is over."
