Mbaye Making Strides

Coming off an impressive display three weeks ago at the War at the Shore in Delware, RivalsHoops.com took another look at 6-9, 200 pound Moussa Mbaye of Life Center Academy in Burlington, N.J. last weekend. Mbaye played in the Our Savior New American tournament in Centereach, New York.
In the final against Our Savior, Mbaye was held in check by Konimba Diarra (South Florida signee), Oumar Sylla (Valpo signee) and Juan Palacios (a top 25 2004 prospect). Mbaye only scored four points. But he is a prospect that is likely to become a very good college basketball player for several reasons.

Among the positive physical aspects of his game is his ability to run the floor and use his athletic ability. Mbaye has the skills to block shots and rebound against big bodies.
The Senegalese native signed this fall with Valparaiso. The staff of Valparaiso was on hand this past Sunday to show their love for Mbaye and also for Sylla, who had a game high 21 points to lead his team to the tournament title.
His coach has spoken very highly of him. "The poise and the skill level that he exhibits is impressive," Darryl Gladden, Sr told Russ Blake. "He dives on the floor, blocks shots, steps out, rebounds and dunks," Gladden reflected. "He's going to be a special guy."
So with the additions of Mbaye and Sylla, the Valpo basketball program should be in great shape over the next couple of years. Sylla is a more accomplished player right now but Mbaye is going to make an impact too once he finishes up polishing his skills.
