Mays: Clemson Bound

Power forward James Mays from Garner Senior High School in Raleigh, North Carolina just announced his intentions to play for Clemson next year.
“I feel good,” said the 6-foot-7, 215-pound Mays. “It is the right place for me. Clemson is a great opportunity.”

Although Clemson was clearly the right choice for Mays, it was not an easy decision.
“It was tough,” he said. “There were a couple other good schools, but in the end Clemson was at the top of my list.”
South Carolina, Virginia Tech, and Fordham were the other schools Mays was considering.
Mays is looking forward to hitting the court for Clemson and expect to play a big role early on.
“I think I might play a big role. The opportunity is there to play as a freshman. I’ll probably play combo forward, a slashing four man.”
Mays is the No. 27 power forward and No. 94 player in the Rivals150.
