Mayo to Marquette

Marquette impressed Todd Mayo on his official visit, and the Golden Eagles landed the younger brother of O.J. Mayo.
Mayo, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame Academy, was impressed by the effort Marquette put into recruiting him.

"Marquette has always been loyal to me," Mayo told Rivals.com. "They have been behind me and at all of my games when I've been at my best and when I haven't been at my best. The other schools were behind me but not like Marquette was.
"All the assistants had seen me play. Buzz had seen me play, and I wasn't even at my best. But they told me that I was the piece that they were looking for."
Mayo, who is a scorer in the same mold as his brother, also had offers from Baylor, Providence, Central Florida and West Virginia. Kansas and Maryland had shown interest.
Mayo joins four-star small forward Juan Anderson and three-star point guard Derrick Wilson in the Marquette's 2011 recruiting class.
