Mayfield Listing Five

Whether suiting up for local team Team Fort Worth or traveling with powerhouse Houston Hoops, Jeremy Mayfield has the attention of coaches around the Texas region. The 6-foot-10, 225-pound power forward from Irving MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, is listing five schools and has offers from two of them.
"I'm interested in LSU, Baylor, North Texas, Texas ,and Texas Tech,” said Mayfield. “Baylor and North Texas have offered, and the others have called me and want to evaluate me in July.”

Baylor’s coaching staff and North Texas’ early interest in Mayfield are the compelling aspects of the two schools that have already offered Mayfield.
“I like Baylor a lot,” he said. “The coaches are all good guys. I also like their facilities. The whole campus is nice. I think the coaches are going to turn that team around.
“North Texas was one of the first schools to show interest in me. I also like their facilities, and they have a real nice gym."
Despite the recruiting interest around him, Mayfield is much more concerned right now with improving his game.
“I'm not sure when I'll take my official visits,” he said. “Right now I'm just concerned with getting better and playing well this summer.
"I'm working on my left hand both in the post and with the dribble. I want to be more comfortable with the ball in my hands.”
Mayfield does know what he will be looking for in a school when the time comes to focus his attention that direction.
"I want to go to a place where I can get a lot of playing time,” he said. “I also think it's important to have a good relationship with the coaches and players. I want to go to a school that is competitive and will be consistently good.”
Mayfield will be with the Houston Hoops in Las Vegas this weekend for the Main Event.
