Mayfield at two as others try to get in

The No. 97 ranked player in the Rivals150 Jeremy Mayfield is favoring two schools, but now an ACC school, Big Ten school and Conference USA school are trying to get into the mix before Mayfield, a 6-foot-10, 225-pound power forward from MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas, makes a decision.
“Jeremy is down to Nebraska and Nevada,” said Mayfield’s AAU coach Craig Roberts of Team Fort Worth. “He has not made a decision as of yet. I was hoping he would have decided and sign early but he's just not ready.

"Ohio State has been calling and we’re going to listen to what they have to say. Virginia called on Monday. UAB is calling, but Jeremy really likes Nebraska and Nevada."
Mayfield has visited both Nevada and Nebraska. His most recent visit, which was to Nebraska, went very well.
“Jeremy had a good time,” said Roberts. “He had a chance to go to a Nebraska football game, and that's an experience itself. He went to dinner at Coach Collier’s house and enjoyed that."
Mayfield, who averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks per game last season, is a long, athlete who specializes in running the floor, rebounding and blocking shots. Offensively, he has nice upside as his skills are still developing.
