Max Good Picks Up A Couple Players

SMITHFIELD, RHODE ISLAND -- Bryant College head coach Max Good (right) has picked up a couple commitments for his second year at the Division II school. Bryant was 7-19 overall and 4-18 in the NE-10 Conference this past season.
Good spent 10 seasons as the head coach at Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Maine, where he amassed an overall record of 275-30 (.902) before moving on to UNLV. He took over the head coaching job at UNLV in the 2000-01 season after Bill Bayno was let go following an NCAA finding. UNLV was 13-9 under Good. He also coached at his alma mater, Eastern Kentucky, as an assistant and head coach.

Mario Correia, a 6-3, 180 pound shooting guard from Massasoit Community College in Brockton, MA.
Correia is a native of Cape Verde, off the west coast of Africa. He's a terrific
athlete with a tremendous feel for the game. As a freshman at Massasoit, Correia averaged 19.9 points,
11.4 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game this season. He also connected on 49 percent
from the field and 38 percent from three-point range. Massasoit finished the
2002 season with a 10-13 overall record.
A unanimous
first-team All-New England JUCO selection, Correia will have three
years of eligibility at Bryant.
John Williams, 5-10, 155 pound point guard at Longmeadow (MA) High School.
Williams averaged 25.1 points, 7.7 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.4 steals per game as a
senior this season. He made 45 percent of three-point field goals, 48 percent
overall from the floor and 84 percent (131-of-160) from the free
throw line.
Williams led Longmeadow to a 14-8 record (9-1 league). He scored 18 points
to lead his team to its second consecutive Valley Wheel League title. Williams recorded
a career-high 41 points in the Western Massachusetts Division I quarterfinal
win over Holyoke and scored a game-high 23 points against Pittsfield in the
semifinal loss.
Williams was voted MBCA Western Massachusetts Player of the Year. A
first-team All-Western Massachusetts as a sophomore and junior, Williams completed his career at Longmeadow with 1,572 points, ranking him 19th on
the region’s all-time scoring list. He is the school’s all-time
leading scorer.
American International, Central Connecticut, Maine,
Massachusetts-Lowell, Saint Michael’s, and Stonehill were among the other
school recruiting him.
