Marvin Black Receiving High D-1 Interest

He might not have played for Coffeyville's 24-8 squad last year, but Marvin Black might just be the best Division I prospect on Jay Herkelman's 2001-2002 squad.
Black, a 6-7, 210 pound forward from Cleveland, Ohio, is described by Coffeyville Asst. Coach Matt McCarthy as a super athlete who is very dangerous on the offensive glass.

Coach McCarthy said that Charlotte, Wisconsin and Saint Louis have all expressed a high degree of interest in Black this fall. Black has yet to take any official visits this fall and is a likely spring signee.
Black started his community college career a few years back at a school in Ohio, but left that program after encountering some eligibility difficulties. He enrolled at Coffeyville last year, and has worked to get his academic house in order.
He could be one of the better sophomore talents in the Jayhawk Conference. JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com hopes to see Coffeyville in action this fall, and we will provide an update on Black at that time.
