Marvin Black Has Major Interest

Marvin Black, a 6-7, 220 pound combo/small forward from Coffeyville C.C. in Coffeyville, Kan., enjoyed a productive weekend at the Jayhawk Shootout.
Black helped the Red Ravens to a pair of victories. On Saturday night, he scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out two assists in a 67-53 victory over Seward County. On Sunday, he was even more productive, pumping in 21 points and hauling in 10 boards in a 69-57 victory over Butler County.

What makes Black attractive to many Division I schools is his versatility. He's fast and athletic enough to finish in transition with a flourish, yet he also is an adequate ball handler and outside shooter.
Coffeyville Head Coach Jay Herkelman told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Wyoming, Texas El Paso, Providence and East Carolina are the schools most seriously involved with Black at this time.
A native of Cleveland, Black started out at a junior college in Ohio a few years back. He transferred to Coffeyville last year where he sat out to bring his academic ledger up to eligibility standards.
Herkelman said that he expects Black to graduate from Coffeyville in either the spring or summer. JUCO Junction will keep you posted on his progress this winter at Coffeyville, so stay tuned to this site for more information in the coming months.
