Martise Coleman Will Enroll At MCI

Martise Coleman, a jet-quick 5-9, 159 pound point guard from Houston, Tex., helped lead the Houston JR. Hardballers to the Sweet 16 at the recent Great American Shootout in Denton, Tex.
Coleman is an excellent pure point guard who pushes tempo and finds teammates in transition. His quickness is also a big-time asset on the defensive end, where he is known to pile up steals on other guards.

Coleman attended Houston Christian H.S. this past year, but has decided to enroll at Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Me., according to his father, Rory (also the coach of the Hardballers program).
Martise told the Insiders Report that he has seen a wide degree of interest from different programs this spring and summer, including Charlotte, Arizona, Holy Cross, Brown, Louisiana Tech, Liberty, Stephen F. Austin and SW Texas State.
As a senior at Houston Christian, Coleman averaged 16.5 points, 7.9 assists and 4.1 steals per game. He said he has a 3.3 GPA and scored a 900 on the SAT. Both marks make Coleman a qualifier under NCAA guidelines, and he is hoping that the extra year at MCI will help him in terms of exposure.
Coleman attended the first session of the Eastern Invitational Basketball Clinic in Trenton, N.J. last week before joining the Hardballers at the Great American Shootout.
The next two events on his summer docket include the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas and the Best of the Summer Tournament in Los Angeles, Calif.
