Marshall Has Major Interest

Curtis Marshall, a sweet-shooting 6-6, 180 pound small forward/swingman from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, N.M., has seen his recruiting interest pick up significantly this fall.
NMMI Head Coach Reggie Franklin told Rivalshoops.com that he has fielded calls from programs such as Texas Tech, Dayton and St. Louis in recent days. Those schools and many others are planning to evaluate Marshall this winter.

At the October Mullen/Mitchell Jamboree in Dallas, Marshall told Rivalshoops.com that UMKC, Boise State and Georgia State were among his most ardent suitors.
Rivalshoops.com caught Marshall in action last March at the Region V Championships in Lubbock, Tex., as well as at the Mullen/Mitchell Jamboree.
A very long and mobile player, Marshall presents some defensive match up problems for opponents, because he is able to deflect a lot of passes on the wing.
On the offensive side of the ball, Marshall is an effective shooter from both mid and long-range distances. He can shoot it off the bounce but is most effective coming off screens in a catch and fire position.
Because of his lack of strength, Marshall is not a particularly consistent finisher, and protecting the ball on forays to the basket can be a challenge at times. He could benefit greatly from a red-shirt year at the Division I level.
A product of McCluer North H.S. in Florissant, Mo., Marshall averaged double digits as a freshman last year at NMMI. According to Franklin, he was a qualifier out of high school in the St. Louis area.
Rivalshoops.com will track Marshall's recruitment as well as those of other top players in the JUCO Class of 2003, so keep it here for the best coverage of junior college recruiting.
