Marshall Has Highs Interested

Fred Marshall was one of the top freshmen on Coffeyville's loaded 2001-2002 squad from a year ago, so it's little surprise that the New Orleans native is picking up right where he left off last season.
Marshall, a bouncy 6-2 shooting guard/swingman, ranks sixth in the Jayhawk Conference, pumping in 17.5 points per contest as the Red Ravens have zoomed to a 9-3 start in 2002-2003.

Marshall has a very quick first step, which allows him to be a very effective as a slasher from the wing. He has good body control, and hangs in the air long enough to draw contact when he takes the ball to the basket.
While his handle can be suspect at times, Marshall is a streaky three point shooter, and isn't afraid to take the big shot in crunch time. In fact, it was his jumper at the Region VI quarters last March that propelled the Red Ravens to a win over Barton County.
"Fred is the toughest kid on our team," Coffeyville Asst. Coach B.J. Hill told Rivalshoops.com. "We call him 'Big Shot Fred,' because he knows how to make plays in crunch time."
Hill said that Louisiana Tech, Oklahoma State, New Orleans and San Jose State are among the early suitors looking at Marshall.
Marshall is expected to sign and graduate in the spring, and you can be sure that Rivalshoops.com will continue to keep you posted on his recruitment in the weeks and months to come.
