Marquette scores versatile wing

Marquette and head coach Buzz Williams hosted a primary target in swingman Malek Harris.
The 6-foot-7 small forward from Orland Park (Ill.) Sandburg is no longer just a target.

Harris confirmed via Twitter what sources told Rivals.com, that he's committed to Marquette and off the board.
A versatile wing player who can handle the ball, rebound at a high level and defend, Harris emerged as a major target for Williams and his staff, thanks to his play in the spring with Mike Mullins' Illinois Wolves club.
Similar in many ways to Iowa State forward Melvin Ejim, Harris is a long athlete with a big-time motor who can play a little bit on the inside and out. As a three, he's got great size and driving ability. As a four he has quickness and the toughness to compete against bigger players.
Ranked No. 120 in the Rivals150 and a three-star prospect, Harris will be elevated into the national top 75 and four-star status during the next rankings update.
Harris is also Marquette's first commitment from the class of 2014.
