Marques Bennett Chops Field To Five

Marques Bennett, a rock-solid 6-5, 190 pound swingman from Brebeuf Prep in Indianapolis, Ind., is considering about five colleges this fall.
Bennett took his first official visit to Valparaiso from Sept. 7-9, and is also looking at Dayton, Wright State, Indiana State and Loyola (MD).

"I liked the visit a lot," Bennett said. "I got along pretty well with the players and coaches."
Wright State had the first in-home visit with Bennett on Sept. 13, while Loyola visited with him on Sept. 17 and Dayton on Sept. 19.
Bennett had a chance to unofficially visit Dayton back on August 18, and was not sure when or where he would take his next official visit.
Bennett is a bit of a jack of all trades; he does not do any one thing outstanding, but rather does a little bit of everything well. An adequate ball handler, Bennett moves very well without the basketball, and is more of a midrange shooter than a three point bomber.
Bennett averaged 23 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals per game as a junior at Brebeuf. He said he has a 2.9 GPA and has scored an 1150 on the SAT.
Prior to attending the Big Time Tournament, Bennett attended the Hoosier Shootout in Bloomington, Ind., and the Kentucky Hoop Fest in Louisville, Ky.
IR will keep you posted on Bennett's recruitment in the coming weeks.
