Mario Chalmers Schedules Second Visit

After visiting with Bill Self on Friday afternoon, Mario Chalmers has decided to take an official visit to the University of Kansas. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound point guard from Bartlett High School in Anchorage, AK., will arrive in Lawrence during the weekend of May 14. It appears that Kansas, Arizona and Wake Forest are the teams to beat for the No. 25 ranked player in the class of 2005.
“Yes, Mario will be visiting Kansas on the weekend of May 14,” Ronnie Chalmers said. “We actually made the decision after our in school visit with Coach Self on Friday. Mario has followed Coach Self since his days at Illinois. He is a genuine man that gave us a great presentation. It was great because we did not spend the entire time talking about basketball.

“Coach Self talked to us about academics, he talked to us about the community life in Lawrence and he talked to us about life after basketball,” he added. “Kansas has always been in Mario’s top five, but I would say that Kansas is now in his top three. Kansas, Arizona and Wake Forest are the top three schools right now, but Georgia Tech is another school we like.”
Micah Downs, the 6-foot-8, 185-pound shooting guard from Bothell High School in Bothell, WA., and Terrence Williams, the 6-foot-7, 207-pound combo guard from Rainier Beach High School in Seattle, WA., are also scheduled to be in Lawrence for their official visits during the weekend of May 14.
