Mario Boggan Touring With Playaz In Vegas

ENGLEWOOD, NEW JERSEY -- Mario Boggan, a 6-6 inside forward from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, has switched his AAU affliation. Boggan will now tour the the Vegas tournament with the Playaz team under Jim Salmon. However, he will rejoin the North Carolina Gators for the National AAU event in Orlando, Florida.
"What happened was Carmelo Anthony was going to be joining us and he asked us if Mario could play with us," Salmon said. "So I said sure if he wants to."

But Anthony then decided to stay in Baltimore and play for the Select. Boggan will remain with the Playaz. "I am just learning about his game," Salmon said. "But we are glad to have him."
Boggan told us he is excited about playing for Florida in a year. "They have a great program and I feel I can help them out," Boggan told us after he scored 12 points last night in a victory. "I can't wait to play for coach Donovan."
In his recruiting race, Boggan had considered North Carolina, Florida, and Indiana. But UNC did not offer. Florida did. And Boggan is very happy to be a Gator.
