Marcus Perry Signs With Nebraska

Marcus Perry could not be happier with his decision to play in a power conference like the Big 12. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound combo guard from Southern Union Community College in Wadley, AL., has signed a letter of intent with Nebraska. After visiting the Cornhuskers during spring break, Perry loved everything about the university.
“Marcus took an official visit to Nebraska during spring break and really liked everything about it,” Southern Union Community College Head Coach Ron Radford said. “He enjoyed spending time with the coaching staff and players, so that certainty made his decision much easier. I think the fact that Marcus will be playing in a conference like the Big 12 also influenced his decision.

“He will be playing against schools like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Missouri game in and game out,” he added. “Playing in a power conference like the Big 12 will definitely be a challenge, but I think Marcus is looking forward to that.”
Perry will likely split time between the point guard and shooting guard during his time at Nebraska. He played both positions during his two years at Southern Union.
“I think the coaching staff at Nebraska will play Marcus at both guard positions,” Coach Radford said. “He played a lot of point guard his freshman year, but spent more time at the shooting guard position this year. He will do whatever it takes to help Nebraska win.”
