Marcelus Kemp To Take Some Trips

Marcelus Kemp, a sturdy 6-3, 185 pound shooting guard from Garfield H.S. in Seattle, Wash., hopes to take a number of official visits over the next several weeks and make a fall decision.
Kemp sat for the SAT exam for the first time last Saturday, Oct. 13. Once his score posts with the College Board, he will be able to take official visits.

Kemp said he has been offered scholarships by three schools -- Utah, Gonzaga and Nevada-Reno, while Washington is also still sniffing around with the talented sniper.
Kemp did not have the visit dates in front of him, but he thinks he will be visiting Reno the weekend of Nov. 10. He said Washington is still interested, but they have made his teammate at Garfield, ultra athletic swingman Brandon Roy, their primary target this fall.
"I like Nevada a lot because the head coach there knew my dad from many years back," Kemp said. "I like Gonzaga because they are on TV a lot and their record is pretty good. I don't know that much about Utah, but everyone says that Rick Majerus is a great coach even though I've haven't spoken with him yet."
Utah Asst. Coach Dick Hunsaker conducted the in-home visit with Kemp and his family in September.
Rivalshoops.com will stay on top of Kemp's recruitment in the coming weeks, so keep it tuned here for the latest.
