Marcelus Kemp Not Sure Of Decision

Marcelus Kemp, the talented 6-3, 185 pound shooting guard from Garfield H.S. in Seattle, Wash., said he is debating on whether or not he should sign early.
The Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com caught up with Kemp on Tuesday night, and there appear to be some obstacles to an early decision.

First, Kemp took the SAT back on Oct. 13, but an administrative issue prevented the test from being scored right away. Apparently, because of a smudge mark on his answer sheet, Kemp said the College Board interpreted his last name as Kehp. That raised a red flag, since he was signed up to take the test as Kemp.
The result is that Kemp has not yet posted a test score, and he had to scuttle plans for a trip to Nevada-Reno this past weekend (Nov. 9- 11). He has rescheduled that visit for Nov. 30 through Dec. 2, but by that time, the early signing period will be over.
"My test score should be coming in by Friday," Kemp said. "So we had to move the visit back."
In addition to Nevada-Reno, Kemp said he has been offered scholarships by Utah and Gonzaga. Providence is a relatively new entrant on Kemp's list, and Marcelus said that the Friar staff will likely continue to recruit him if he signs late.
"I am going to set up visits with Gonzaga, Utah and Providence later," Kemp said. "Washington keeps sending me stuff in the mail, but I really have not talked to them in a while."
Kemp was one of the better sleepers who emerged this past summer. Playing for Seattle Rotary, he ripped through opposing defenses at a trio of July events -- the finalscore.com Tournament, the adidas Big Time Tournament and the Best of the Summer Tournament.
Should he wait until the spring to sign, Kemp would likely be one of the more sought after guards in the country. Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on his status in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
