Texan Ryan Manuel has made his college decision. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard will be staying in state after selecting Matt Doherty's SMU Mustangs.
A product of Ft. Bend (Texas) Austin, Manuel is a long wing with athleticism, ability to shoot from deep and plenty of upside.
Before committing to Doherty's Mustangs he compared SMU's campus with UNLV and was sold on everything SMU had to offer.
"I just felt it was a great opportunity for me to play early and a lot as a freshman," Manuel told texashoops.com. "(SMU) has great academics, I like coach Doherty and it's close to home."
A three-star prospect, Manuel joins San Diego big man Eric Norman as an early pledge for SMU.
