Manley Chooses A School

John Manley, a 6-7, 215-pound power forward from Minnetonka High School in Minnetonka, Minnesota, has committed to Cal-Poly, according to sources close to Manley.
Manley, a sturdy four man with a budding face-up game, had previously fielded offers from Lamar, Furman, and Cal-Riverside. He visited Cal Poly officially this past weekend and made his decision shortly thereafter. Manley had planned to visit Lamar officially, but that visit has been cancelled.

Manley will join his Team Minnesota frontcourt mate Zach Thurow in the Cal Poly front court next fall. Thurow had previously commited in September. Cal Poly, out of The Big West Conference, has cashed in on an underexploited pool of talent in the state of Minnesota.
With few Division I programs within the state and region scouring the area for talent, programs from the West, like Cal Poly, and Southwest, like Oklahoma, have been able to snare some promising prospects. Boston College is another program that has plucked some talented players of the state.
