The nation's top point guard in the senior class, five-star point guard Trevon Duval, is likely going to have a decision sometime at the end of April or in early May.

A native of Delaware who has played his senior season at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., Duval is a long and athletic point guard whose burst and change of direction make him a nightmare to cover off the dribble.

Duval is down to a final five comprised of Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Kansas and Seton Hall. A heck of a poker player, Duval hasn't tipped his cards in any way and after taking official visits to all five spots, there are some thoughts that Duke could be in the lead but nobody really has a great feeling about just how deep they are or aren't in the mix at this point.

Today, we bounce around the Rivals.com network to get a feel for Duval's recruitment as it nears an end.

THE CASE FOR ARIZONA

"If you took a poll of Arizona fans and asked what they feel the most important position is to breaking through the NCAA wall and UA reaching a Final Four they would say the point guard spot. They would also say - for the most part - that Trevon Duval is the must-get prospect left on the board to finish out this class and make that happen. Arizona has not quite had an elite level player at that position the caliber of Duval, and for many fans he is the key to getting back to the Final Four if he is combined with what UA already has on board for 2017 - which includes the No. 3 recruit DeAndre Ayton.

".... Duval’s connection with assistant coach Emanuel “Book” Richardson has been the constant. Richardson’s connection to New York and that part of the country has helped the Wildcats land numerous recruits from the area over the last few years including Brooklyn native Rawle Alkins in the 2016 class. That is a big key for UA with Duval.

"However, to me the buzz around Tucson with someone like Duval hasn’t quite been as positive as it has with others. As much as fans want to add him to the class, the feeling remains that it is more of a long shot to actually happen. His recruitment across the board has been a bit of a mystery and if Arizona does eventually land Duval, it would come as a bit of a surprise to those following UA." – Matt Moreno, GOAZCATS.com.

THE CASE FOR BAYLOR

"When he traveled from Tuscon to Waco for an official visit to see the Bears on senior night, it spoke to Duval's wanting to see what Baylor could really present. He didn't have to do that in the middle of the week. But he saw a game where the Baylor guards hit big shots and go on huge runs to beat West Virginia.

".... Baylor offers a very guard-friendly offense. They will get their abundance of shots, especially behind the arc. Freedom is not a problem. Many will look at the Bears as the fourth horse in a five-horse race. The Bears are going to be pretty deep in 2017-18, despite losing three starters. However, the pieces are there to challenge Kansas and end the Jayhawks' run of 13 consecutive Big 12 regular season titles.'' – Kevin Lonnquist, SicEmSports.com.

THE CASE FOR DUKE

"Let's face it, this kid would be great anywhere. He's an electric athlete with scorching burst going to the basket. He handles the ball like it's on a string and can be a dynamic playmaker.

"Duke is selling him on having the keys to the squad where he'll be surrounded by versatile forwards, shooters and skilled bigs. I think they're also selling him the marketing and branding angle that Duke does so well.

"I feel that the Blue Devils are the leader in this recruitment and the Duval camp really likes the pitch." – Clint Jackson, DevilsIllustrated.com

THE CASE FOR KANSAS

"Most likely, Bill Self and his staff have recruited Trevon Duval as long and as hard as any other prospect in this class. The goal from the beginning has been to sign a difference-maker in the backcourt, and in the eyes of Kansas, Duval is exactly that.

"With National Player of the Year and senior guard Frank Mason III set to graduate, Duval would have the opportunity to come in and run the show with Devonte' Graham, Malik Newman and a host of talented backcourt mates. With what Kansas has returning, along with its incoming class, the Jayhawks will not only be favored to capture their 14th-straight Big 12 regular season championship, but Kansas will be a serious contender to advance to San Antonio, Texas, site of the Final Four." – Shay Wildeboor, JayhawkSlant.com.

THE CASE FOR SETON HALL

"Duval was born in New York before moving to Delaware and played for some time in New Jersey for high school and grassroots ball. Seton Hall’s pitch is come back home, play in front of his family and friends where he then parlays his one year on a college hardwood before being selected early on within the 2018 NBA Draft.

"Seton Hall can’t offer the bright lights and glamour that some of the others can, but it does have the personnel that, with Duval in the mix, could make next year’s roster the best yet during the Kevin Willard era. Surrounded by Khadeem Carrington, Myles Powell, who is one of Duval's best friends, and Desi Rodriguez on the perimeter and with Angel Delgado in the post, Duval will be given the ball from day one.

"Lastly, shoe companies sometimes have some sway in the recruitment of elite prospects. Duval has played for an Under Armour-based travel program, We R1, the past few summers, has attended UA-sponsored high schools the last two years, and seeing that Seton Hall is the only UA program on his list, there could be an advantage." – Corey Evans, Rivals.com national analyst.

THE VERDICT

The general consensus is that Duke is the team to beat and there are many who feel that way because of a thought that Duval initially pursued the Blue Devils. That story has probably been embellished a bit over time, but the feeling is definitely out there that Mike Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils are the team to beat.

What I find so interesting is that as we enter the last leg of Duval's recruitment, I don't think that any of his finalists feel particularly great about where they stand, but none of them seem to feel out of it.

Baylor does look to have the longest of shots here and I still think that if there is a leader, it's Duke. But, Arizona, Kansas, Seton Hall? I wouldn't count any of them out just yet and we are going to start hearing rumors that run the entire spectrum over the next few weeks. – Eric Bossi, Rivals.com National Basketball Analyst.
