Making Sure About UNC

David Padgett, a 6-11, 235 pound center/power forward from Reno (NV) High School, told us not to make much of his dad's visit to Chapel Hill this past weekend. "He took visits to the other schools too," David said of his father, Pete. "So it was up to him to take the visit. I didn't ask him to take it."
Padgett was very even in his tone about each school left on his list -- UNC, Kansas, Arizona, and Stanford. "I don't plan on making a decision for at least another couple of weeks," Padgett said. "It is safe to say I won't have a decision soon."

Padgett indicated he will have his last in home visit with Stanford later this month. "Some schools are coming into my school to see me workout but not to meet with me," Padgett said. "But I only have one in home left."
Padgett refused to name a leader. "They are all great schools," Padgett said. "It's going to be very hard to pick a school. I liked all of my visits and I enjoy talking to all of the coaches."
Padgett has taken visits to North Carolina, Kansas, Stanford, and Arizona. An excellent student, Padgett said he's carrying a 3.3 GPA. Padgett is one of the best players in the 2003 class and one of the most sought after student/athletes. Padgett finished up his junior year averaging 23 points, 14 rebounds and eight blocks per game.
"Once I take my last in home visit," Padgett said. "I will then sit down with my family and try to come up with a decision. It won't be easy."
