Majors Take Early Aim At Robinson

Russell Robinson, a smooth 6'2'' 180 pound shooting guard from Rice High School in New York City, is a member of the class of 2004 out of the Northeast who will likely garner major conference interest.
Robinson has already generated serious interest from St. John's, as well as inquiries from Villanova, Syracuse, and Kentucky. He does not have any scholarship offers at this very early juncture, but the hometown Red Storm have already spoken to Robinson about the possibility of an early commitment. Robinson is still wide open.

Robinson, who averaged 9 points and 6 rebounds as a sophomore on a Rice squad that featured a number of Division I players, is a threat from behind the arc, equipped with a quick release. He's a bit on the spindly side as far as his frame, but considering how young Russell is, packing on some extra muscle shouldn't be a problem down the road.
Robinson competed this summer with The New York Gauchos, participating in The Peach Jam, The Super Showcase, and both the 16 and 17 and under Nationals, as well as the Nike Camp.
Russell carries a 91 average in the classroom.
