Madsen to play in the SEC
Kyle Madsen, a three-star prospect from Dublin-Coffman (Ohio) High School, narrowed it down to Clemson and Vanderbilt. In the end the 6-foot-9, 210-pound power forward saw himself playing a role similar to a former successful Commodore.
“I called Coach Stallings around seven tonight and committed,” said Madsen. “I really thought I fit in well with the players, and I liked Coach Stallings.

Madsen was also allured to Vanderbilt by Vanderbilt’s use of long, lean shooters from the power forward position, with the latest two being Dan Langhi and Matt Freije.
“They plan on using me like Matt Freije, a four coming off screens and hit jumpers,” said Madsen.
Aware of both what he needs to improve and what he can hang his hat on is guiding Madsen’s workouts this fall.
“I’m working on improving my strength and putting on some weight,” he said. “I’m also taking lots of shots.”
