Madera Lists Three A10 Schools

Rafael Madera, a 6-10, 240 pound center from Queens, New York, showed strong post skills at last week's Triple S Harley Davidson Charlie Weber Invitational at West Virginia University. Madera played with the CAS Warriors and will be doing so this week at the Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas.
He had eight points in the Warriors 92-67 win over the Metro All-Stars from our nation's capital.

Madera has good hands and when playing the high post gets the ball to an open teammate. He also runs the floor extremely well. He hits the glass, defends and converts high percentage chances in the paint.
Madera will attend Avon Old Farms School in Connecticut as a fifth-year senior after previously prepping at Milford Academy. This placement was aided by the Warriors' "Project Assist" program which helps place promising students and athletes in some of the nation's finest college preparatory high schools.
Madera said his recruiting is open and named Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Dayton as schools he's interested in. Last month, he told RivalsHoops.com's Russ Blake that he was looking at Clemson, Miami, Penn State and Manhattan.
He averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks per game as a junior. Madera said he has a C+ average and needs to get a qualifying SAT score.
A lefty, Madera said he's working on his right hook shot this summer.
