The Connecticut Post reported today that DeWitt Maxwell (right), a 6-4, 175-pound swingman from Newark Science High School in New Jersey, signed with Fairfield. He picked the Stags over George Mason, Towson, and Rider.
Maxwell, who is fully qualified, averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game as a junior at Science.

Canisius College announced today that the Griffs signed a center from Canada during the National Letter of Intent's early signing period. He's 6-10, 237 pound Michael Hanley from Peterborough Collegiate in Peterborough, Ontario.
Hanley averaged 19.6 points and 9.8 rebounds last season and 10.2 points and eight rebounds in the 1999-00 campaign.

On Monday, Marist announced the signing of Carl Hood, a 6-3 guard from James Madison High School in Houston, TX.
Hood averaged 14.4 points per game as a junior last season. So far this season (four games), he is averaging 22.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists a game. He was selected as a Pre-season All-State Honorable Mention.
