Lueneburg Needs Strong Winter

One player who could help himself with a strong winter of play is Columbia J.C. sophomore center Rick Lueneburg.
A 6-9, 220 pound big man from Gilbert, Ariz., Lueneburg is in his third year out of high school. He is in his second year at the Sonora, Calif., based junior college.

At the recent Modesto J.C. Tournament in California, Lueneburg displayed a good frame, adequate mobility and the penchant to play physical in the low post. Although he's not much of a scorer, he is big and size is at such a premium during the spring signing period.
Columbia Head Coach Andrew Vasher told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Lueneburg has seen interest from Cal-State Northridge and a host of Division II programs this fall (including Cal-State Stanislaus).
Vasher said that Lueneburg is on-line to graduate in the spring, and JUCO Junction will keep you posted should other D-Is decide to get involved with Lueneburg this winter.
